The room

A sitting room with a blank end wall and dark plank flooring. The client wanted a library feel with somewhere to sit and display space for a few pieces.

What we did

The wall became a single built-in: shelving to the ceiling, two taller display bays with recessed lighting, and a base of closed cabinets that doubles as a bench. Wainscoting on the side walls carries the same paint and panel proportions around the room so the built-in reads as part of the architecture rather than a piece of furniture against it.
